Update on Manufacturing and Shipping

Dear Backers,
Since the end of the Kickstarter campaign, things have been moving forward rapidly with production and we are proud to let you know that the Bolt WiFi Modules are tested and ready!
Bolt WiFi Modules are ready
We have already started the shipping of standalone Bolt WiFi modules (i.e. Rewards of $9, $12, $17, $45, $77, $89 and $175) and all of these should be shipped by end of this month.
However, we have hit a road bump with some of the accessory components included as part of the kits: 1. The USB cables that we were about to ship turned out to be of low quality. We want to give the best user experience possible so, we have ordered USB cables from a different vendor which may take 10 more days to arrive.
2. Speaking of good user experience, we realised that the Arduino Adaptor (Boltduino) pins had the wrong naming printed on them. Hence it will take some time to rectify the same. We shall be making a new prototype unit followed by mass manufacturing. We expect the process to take almost an additional one month’s time. This means that all the rewards that have Arduino Adaptor (Boltduino) included as part of them will be shipped in March 2018. Below is the photo of the current prototype. As you can see, the naming for Analog pins is 0,1,2 instead of A0, A1, A2 etc. This was, in fact, an error on our side as we overlooked the detail initially. We have also extended the size of Boltduino board so that all the Arduino shields can comfortably fit on it.

The implications of these will be: 1. All rewards that have Bolt Starter Kits included in them will start shipping by early March as they have USB cable included in them. 2. All rewards that have Arduino Adaptor (Boltduino) will ship towards the end of March.
We apologise for the delay but, this step is necessary to ensure our commitment to quality. We sincerely hope that you will understand.
We shall share the links for digital rewards such as the DigitalOcean Credits, Video Course and Project Book (Stretch Goal) from next week.

Digital Rewards and Building the Bolt Community

Dear Backers,
We are glad to let you know that we have shipped more than 500 rewards to date. However, another road bump we are facing is the further delay in the production of the Boltduino (Arduino Adaptor) but rest assured, the shipping of the same will start in the month of April.
We’re extremely sorry for the delay and since you have been so patient, we are giving away one proximity sensor worth $5 per Arduino Adaptor to all the backers who have the Arduino Adaptors as part of their kit or have taken it as an add-on.
Stretch Goal 'Project Book' and 'Video Course on IoT and ML'
This week we have sent the stretch goal Project Book pdf to all our backers. We have also given access to all the backers to our online video course on IoT and ML who had opted in for the same. Hope you are having a great new year.
We had promised that we will send the survey to acquire the shipping address in early January, but unfortunately, the process got a bit delayed. Not to worry, we will send the survey by 26th of January using Backerkit.
We are on schedule for the manufacturing of the Bolt WiFi Modules and the kits. They are expected to be delivered in the month of February 2018 as planned.
